Location and Infrastructure

The Institute is situated in quiet and pleasant environs on the fringe of an institutional area contiguous to a greenbelt and near the Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The campus of NIPFP has an academic and office block, residential quarters, a hostel, a guest house, and related infrastructure.Route Map

IT Facility

The NIPFP houses a large state of the art computer network connected to seven servers including one web server. The Institute's network has ten terminals in the computer centre as well as connections to the personal computers assigned to all the faculty/staff. Computer connectivity is also available at the residence of faculty members living on-campus. The network supports email/internet as well as online library database system. Latest software packages for statistical applications have been installed to facilitate updating of the data bank and analysis.

Jobs

Faculty Positions

As and when vacancies arise, the NIPFP recruits persons with excellent qualifications in economics with specializations in its thrust areas of research. Applications are invited through advertisements in leading national newspapers. The pay scales are as applicable to all premier institutions under the UGC.

Research project based recruitments are conducted on a continuing basis. Applications for such positions are invited from scholars with requisite qualifications.

Visiting Appointments

NIPFP welcomes short term academic visitors from India and overseas. The time period may vary from a few months to a year. Depending on the stay and purpose, an honorarium may be provided. Those interested may write to Director.

Selection Process

For faculty positions evaluation of applications with requisite qualifications is done by the Selection Committee appointed for the purpose.

On receiving applications for project based faculty positions, the institute processes them within 2 months. Evaluation is done by internal assessment. Those residing in India or visiting India are usually invited to give a seminar.
