The Institute seeks to hire suitable qualified candidate at the levels of Senior Fellow, Fellow, Senior Economist, Economist and Research Associate. Submission of applications for the faculty positions is open throughout the year, however the applications received within the period of one-month from the date of issuance of this advertisement shall be considered in the first phase, We offer UGC scales of pay and campus residential accommodation subject to availability.

Senior Fellows [including one post each for RBI and IDFC Chairs] In the scale of pay of Rs.16,400-450-20900-500-22400 plus allowances as per Institute Rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs. 43,166/-per month.

Age: preferably 45 years (relaxable by the selection committee in deserving cases).

Qualifications Essential (i) A creditable academic record with PhD in economics and specialization in public economics with a good background in macro economic theory and quantitative economics (ii) Publication of high standard, (iii) at least 10 year’s’ research or teaching experience in University or Government or a reputed research Institution.

Desirable: Experience in empirical analysis of industrial and/or fiscal policy issues and policy modeling.

Selection may not be confined to only those who apply. 

Fellows: In the scale of pay of Rs.12000-420-18300 plus allowances as per Institute Rules. .Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs.31,880/-per month.

Age: preferably 40 years (relaxable by the selection committee in deserving cases). 

Qualifications Essential (i) A creditable academic record with PhD in economics and specialization in public economics with a good background in quantitative economics (ii) Publication in standard journals, (iii) 8 year’s’ experience in  research or teaching.

Desirable: Experience in empirical analysis of industrial and/ or fiscal policy issues .

Selection may not be confined to only those who apply. 

Senior Economists: In the scale of pay of Rs.10000-325-15200 plus allowances as per Institute Rules. .Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs.26,725/-per month.

Age: preferably 35 years.

Qualification Essential (i) Post graduation in economics with specialization in public finance (II) PhD degree obtained on the basis of dissertation in the area of public finance, (iii) Knowledge of quantities techniques, (iv) Publication of good standard, ( v)  five years working experience in the post of Economist.

Economist: In the scale of pay of Rs.8000-275-13500 plus allowances as per Institute Rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs21.620/-per month.

Age: preferably 30 years.

Qualification Essential (i) High Second class post graduation degree in Economics, (ii) Specialization in public finance and knowledge of quantitative techniques.

Desirable: 2 or 3 years research or teaching experience.

Research Associates: In the scale of pay of Rs.5000-150-8000 plus allowances as per Institute Rules. .Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around Rs. 13,225/-per month.

Age: preferably 25 years (relaxable by selection committee in deserving cases)

Qualification Essential:. (i) At least a Second class master’s degree in economics or statistics or commerce, (ii) one year research experience.

 General: (i) selection committee reserves the right to raise or relax the job specification, overall experience and level of posts or any other terms at its discretion, (ii) candidates can be selected for lower post also, (iii) In the event of candidates not being found suitable, post's may not be filled, (iv) IDFC and RBI chair posts will be filled on tenure basis. (v) Reservation for SC/ST/OBC will be as per Govt. rules.(vi) Applications can be submitted through out the year 2007.  However, applications received within 30 days of this advertisement will be considered in the first phase.
